Nursery!

So it took a little longer than I expected, but here is my nursery post!

I loved putting together Amelia's nursery! We actually were able to put her entire nursery together spending under $850! We purchased her crib and changing table for $150 (for both) at a Black Friday sale at Babies R Us!

She hasn't started sleeping in it yet but I think that we will transition her from our room in another 2 - 4 weeks (I am not looking forward to this!)

So here are the pictures of baby girl's nursery:

3 weeks

Oh.My.Goodness.

I cannot believe that Amelia is 3 weeks old already!

We are doing really well but it has been an interesting few weeks. Here are just a few highlights of our last few weeks!

  • Amelia came home on April 1st. This was the 5th anniversary of our engagement and my official due date!
  • Amelia lost nearly a pound of weight before she left the hospital, so we had several weight checks at the doctor's office over her first two weeks. As of last Thursday she was back to her birth weight of 9 lbs 9 oz.
  • Amelia has been sleeping 5.5 - 6 hour stretches since she was 8 days old!
  • She came down with an eye infection when she was 10 days old and that has finally cleared up!
  • Her baby acne came in at 2 weeks 1 day and it is one of the worst cases that our pediatrician has seen. Luckily it has already started clearing up. Her forehead is nearly clear and her cheeks are getting there. At its worst - her entire face was bright red with little pimples everywhere! Now her skin is still dry, but it's really just her cheeks that are clearing up.
  • I came down with Mastitis on Monday (ouch!) but am on antibiotics now and am feeling much much better!
  • Amelia's BFF Grace Eleanor was born to our dear friends Ellie & Eric on Tuesday morning!
  • Amelia is still in newborn diapers and pants, but her newborn onesies are getting a bit hard to squeeze her into!
So that is what we have been up to! Here are some pictures from our last few weeks. Including her newborn photos!

3 months later.

Well. I have definitely neglected this blog the last 3 months and I am so sorry I have.

I loved blogging (and still do) but the exhaustion of pregnancy and working full time was just too much to make blogging a priority for me. However - I do plan to "come back to blogging."

So now it is time to update you on the last 3 months and I have to tell you - this is going to be a LONG post, so bear with me if you can!

First - I will share some pictures with you!

Here is our baby girl in 3D at 32 weeks!

Here is me at 36 weeks!

Pictures from our Maternity Shoot at 35 weeks!

And here I am yesterday at 39 weeks!!

So a lot has happened in the last 3 months. We got the nursery ready, I had my shower, and we decided to have a c-section due to some concerns about shoulder dystocia with my gestational diabetes.  I will work on making those some separate posts but I wanted to be sure to let you all know that we are doing great over here and that we are meeting our baby girl in the next day or two.

I find out today when our c-section is scheduled for and the anticipation of that phone call is absolute torture right now!

I will be sure to keep you all updated and will absolutely post more often!

27 Weeks!

Baby This Week: Little girl is still about the size of an eggplant! Measuring 13.5 - 15 inches and weighing between 1.5 - 2.5 pounds! *I think that she is larger than this as she was in the 87th percentile the last time I had an ultrasound (about a week and a half ago).*

What I am Feeling: Much more consistent kicks but usually pretty low. She sometimes kicks up high but it isn't nearly as consistent. I think she prefers to have her head up.  It is absolutely hysterical when I am on my laptop and she kicks it from underneath :) I love it. Watching my belly move is so magical!

Milestones This Week:
1) My parents came over on New Year's Eve and helped Rob to move furniture from the Guest Room (future nursery) into the office. We still want our full size bed available in case we have guests, so we have just consolidated the furniture of both rooms into the one office. It's tight but it works. Now that her room is empty, we can actually start getting it ready for her!
2) Hiccups! I love baby hiccups - they tickle so much when she hits my side, and I love it.

Miscellany: I am doing really well. Still somewhat comfortable, sleep is getting difficult (it just hurts my hips a bit), but just feeling anxious. I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes last week. I really thought that I would be fine, but it seems that I wasn't going to get through this pregnancy without a complication. However, I have been able to manage it so far with just diet! I see the High Risk doctor next week and then she can tell me whether or not I need insulin (fingers crossed I don't).

Well here is my 27 week belly pic (actually 27w, 3 days). I am feeling huge but as long as she is growing normally, that's all I care about. I still don't have any new stretch marks, but I am starting to wonder how big I am going to get! I had a run-in with a woman the other day who told me like I looked like I could deliver "any minute" and that she can't believe I have to wait till April 1. Oy. I can't believe that people are so quick to say things like that!! The last thing I wanted to hear was how huge I look. Blah.
